In 2014, the first branch office in the company history of Jünger+Gräter was opened in Berlin. This was not done in order to be close to the decisions made by the Federal Government in Berlin but because we wanted to take advantage of the given opportunity.

Due to the branch office in the capital of Germany it was now possible to serve our customers in the metropolitan area of Berlin in a quick, flexible and uncomplicated manner. Due to being an island until the reunification of Germany in 1990 West Berlin had built a self-sufficient energy supply system. Consequently, you find numerous types of power plants operated by customers. For J+G Berlin is an important market due to the numerous power plants and boilers.

In addition to the activities in refractory engineering our branch office with 20 employees also focuses on work in the chimney construction, scaffolding and industrial climbing sectors. A great number of our employees have special qualification in the industrial climbing sector according to FISAT Levels 1 to 3 and are thus in a position to reach areas that are hard to access without expensive scaffolding required.

In the chimney construction sector our climbers find work opportunities and thereby help our customers find solutions that benefit them technically and economically.

If working in great heights the topic safety, health and environmental protection is also treated with high priority in Berlin, too. For this reason we also offer our customers the possibility to rely on our services to “rescue in great heights and depths”.

As all companies in the J+G Group our branch office in Berlin is certified according to ISO 9001 and SCC ^P**.

Based on the support from the head office the Berlin branch office is capable of handling any complex project in the refractory sector.

Following the principle of the J+G Group, Jünger+Gräter S.A.R.L. operates as partner in the worldwide management of refractory projects: Our primary objective is to enhance the efficiency of the refractory linings our customers purchase.

Within this framework we offer our customers a targeted expertise, customized concepts, the best suited refractory materials, technical customer service and high quality work when installing the materials. The installation work is done by our subsidiary partners.

Our branch office in Mions (Département Rhône [69]) has approximately 700 m² of storage space with 150 tons of refractory products in stock. The organization consists of currently 11 employees of which 4 are project managers, 2 assistants/secretaries and 5 installation managers. The German head office is always capable of providing support in case of big projects.

We are in a position to offer you all types of linings:

• refractory,
• monolithic/acid-resistant and
• monolithic/abrasion-resistant.

We are active in all market sectors and focus specifically on

Jünger+Gräter Schweiz GmbH was founded in 2009 and currently has 13 employees. The company is part of the internationally active Jünger+Gräter Group with over 280 employees in Germany, France and Austria.

The company is located in Hornussen since 2014 because the previous location in Gebenstorf became too small due to the fast and positive development of company business. In Hornussen we have over 500 m² of covered storage space in order to supply our customers quickly with requested refractory materials. Due to the good geographic location very close to highway A3 we can move quickly and are easy to access.

Safety, health and environmental protection are top priority. Just like all companies in the J+G Group, Jünger+Gräter Schweiz GmbH is certified according to SCC^P** as the first and only refractory engineering company in Switzerland.

Trained personnel is our key to success. In addition to continuous training at the J+G Academy we have:

• Foremen and assistant foremen in refractory and chimney engineering who are certified by the Chamber of Craft Trades
• Nozzle and gunning machine operators in refractory engineering certified by the German Association for Refractory and Chimney Engineering)
• Certified bolt and manual welders certified by the state technical inspection authority

Specialization:

Biomass and Wood Incineration

From the beginning we viewed the market for biomass and wood incineration plants to be interesting and diversified. Based on our machinery pool, large storage capacity, flexibility and expertise of our personnel regarding specific customer requirements we were successful in providing first class service that became word of mouth in the branch. We specifically set an industry standard with our refractory brick of the JURA² series for service and durability in crowns in the wood incineration sector. This brick series is distinguished by superb thermal shock resistance, low abrasion and high resistance to alkalis. We manage to continuously expand our application areas due to creative and innovative solutions.

Special Refuse and Sewage Sludge Incineration

Beyond household refuse incineration Jünger+Gräter Schweiz also focuses on different sectors of environmental protection technology. Mention is made of plants in which there is further treatment or other thermal processes to treat refuse and waste gases. These are, for example:

• Thermal after-combustion plants
• Sludge incineration plants (e.g. sewage sludge or industrial sludge)

Since the 1980s J+G had close relationships with customers in Austria. Due to the expansion of refuse incineration capacities at the end of the 1990s and in 2000 the Austrian market became a very important and interesting location for our products and services.

In order to give this service a long-term economic foundation we decided in 2011 to establish a subsidiary in Austria. This enabled us to better provide a flexible and attractive on site service corresponding to the high technical level and quality the J+G Group has to offer.

Since the founding in 2011 Jünger+Gräter Austria GmbH is based in Vienna-Inzersdorf in the 23^rd district of that big city. With highly qualified and experienced employees in the refractory engineering business this company plays a major part in securing our service activities in Austria. The company has sufficient office space and a covered storage facility. Consequently, we can supply our customers quickly and flexibly with the requested refractory materials. Furthermore, there is a workshop for the construction and drying of premanufactured refractory products. Due to the central location of Vienna we can get to customers in all industrial areas inside Austria quickly and customers from all over Austria can get to Vienna quickly as well.

In addition to the main business sector refuse incineration the company also made a name for itself regarding small and big biomass and wood incineration plants. J+G Austria GmbH has also handled projects in the cement and lime kiln sector successfully on their own.

Our company is the first contact partner for customers in countries to the southeast of Austria. Since the foundation of the company there has been much success in the biomass incineration sector in the northern region of Italy.

The machinery pool, unique storage of refractory products in Austria, high level of engineering and the potential of research and development in the J+G Group have contributed to J+G Austria having a very pleasant business development during the past 5 years.

The engineering, the best suited refractory materials for each project and the technical customer service can be provided as one package because of being part of J+G group.

Our branch office is in Figueira da Foz and has approximately 180 m² of space. The organization consists of currently 40 bricklayers, 5 foreman, 2 supervisors, 1 Safety Manager and 3 assistants/secretaries. The German head office is always capable of providing support in case of big projects.
